The ExSIDE Ombudsman is a well-recognized scientific independent personality not directly involved in ExSIDE. He was chosen by the Supervisory Board in the first meeting. The role of the Ombudsman is to facilitate communication and suggest possible solutions in case some conflict arises among different parties involved in ExSIDE. In particular, the Ombudsman will handle cases of suspicion of serious scientific misconduct and cases of conflict between ESRs and their supervisors in consultation with the Supervisory Board. In case of prolonged dispute and when no generally agreed solutions can be found, the beneficiaries agree to accept and implement the decisions of the Ombudsman.
